S. amani P.H. Davis in Notes R.B.G. Edinb. 38:50 (1980). Procumbent shrublet with tortuous woody base. Stems branched, slender, leafy portion 5-10 cm, puberulent; hairs patent, mostly 0.1-0.2 mm. Leaves cuneate-oblanceolate, 10-15 x 2-3.5 mm, acute, mucronate, sparsely scabrid-hirtellous, greyish. Inflorescence somewhat dense, ovate-oblong, 2-3 cm. Verticillasters 2-flowered, flowers shortly pedicellate. Floral leaves 1.5-4 x flowers. Calyx 3-3.5 mm, actinomorphic, sutural veins weak, pubescent; teeth lanceolate-subulate, 1/2 x calyx. Corolla 7-8 mm, probably white. Nutlets unknown. Fl 8-9. Alt. 1220-1980 m.
