Outside Anatolia, known only from the type gathering, of which I have seen only the cited illustration. fr.-Tur. element. Very variable in size of spathe and spadix, specimens with stouter appendices approaching A. conophalloides. The significance of this variation is difficult to assess, but at present it does not seem appropriate to give formal names to the distinct local populations which exist. A specimen from C10 Hakkari: Ümit Tepesi, 1600 m, T. Baytop (İSTE 26075)! in anomalous in having an exceptionally narrow spathe. There are two literature records of "A. elongatum" from B9 Muş (Later to Egurt-Gemaz, II vi 1916, Schischkin) and B10 Agri (Klyczgeduk, 24 ν 1916, Schischkin). These may refer either to subsp. detruncatum or to A, cono-phalhides. True subsp. elongatum has not been recorded from Turkey. However, a specimen from B2 Uşak (Murat Da., nr Gürlek, Pinar çayiri, 1100 m, A. Baytop (İSTE 39431)! has a spathe and spadix almost identical to a specimen of subsp. elongatum collected by Davis in the Crimea (d. Yalta, Nikita, 100 m, D. 33112!)· It is not clear whether they are the same taxon.
Distribution of species: Ukraine, Crimea, ?Balkans (subsp. elongatum), Iran (subspp. detruncatum, elongatum, engleri (Hausskn.) H. Riedl).
