Iraq, W., C. Iran. Ir.-Tur. element. Ae. fimbriatum, Ae. stylosum DC. and Ae. speciosum are very closely allied species, distinguished on minutiae. Ae. schiz-opterum Boiss. & Hausskn., described from near Avroman in Iranian Kurdistan, is in no way different from Ae. fimbriatum. Ae. fimbriatum is most readily dis-tinguished from its nearest allies, Ae. stylosum and Ae. speciosum, by its stronger, sturdier habit, larger floral parts and larger, more coarsely dentate fruits.
