A. meniocoides Boiss. in Ann. Sci. Nat. 17: 158 (1842). Syn: A. kermanscha-hertsis Cowan ex Parsa, Fl. Iran 1: 733, f. 607 (1951)! Ic: Jaub. & Spach, 111. Or. 1: t. 53B (1843), as Meniocus filifolius.
Stems slender, 3-10 cm. Leaves (5.5-)10-18 mm, ± involute. Petals pale, obo-vate, entire (l.5-)2-3.5 mm. Fruits glabrous. Styles 0.5-1 mm. Seed wings 0.1-0-2 mm wide. Fl. 2-4. Fallow fields, steppe and limestone slopes, 100-2000 m.

Syrian Desert, Iran, Afghanistan. Ir.-Tur. element. In collections containing both A. meniocoides & A. aureum, the diagnostic characters usually remain Quite clear, and A. meniocoides has mature fruit while A. aureum is still flowering. The two species grow together in Mesopotamia but A. aureum replaces A. meniocoides in C. & E. Anatolia.
