Plant glaucescent green, minutely glandular-pruinose, without long hairs on stems and leaves. Stems erect, 14-32 cm. Median leaves 15-20 x 7-15 mm, ovate, entire. Verticillasters 2-8. Bracteoles lanceolate-linear, 1/2-1 x calyx tube. Calyx straight, 6-8 mm, sub-bilabiate to c. 1/3, with subsessile glands, tube pilose-hirsute or not; teeth porrect, lanceolate-subulate, ciliate or not; upper teeth 1.5-3 mm, lower 2.5-4 mm. Corolla lilac, mauve or rose, 8-12 mm. Fl. 6-8. Rocky limestone slopes, 1200-1830 m.

N. Iraq. Ir.-Tur. element. D. 47745 and Trelawny 1845 differ from the type in having long-haired calyces with ciliate calyx teeth. However, a similar range of variation has been seen from Iraq, even from the type locality. C. stamineum is very closely related to both C. glabrescens and C. longiflorum Leblebici (N. Iraq).
