A. nemrutdaghense Kit Tan & Sorger in Pl. Syst. Evol. 154: 126, t. 1G(1986).

Bulb solitary, subglobose, 3.5-4 cm diam.; tunics papery, outer greyish, inner white. Stem 12-20 cm, solid, erect, terete. Leaves 3, basal, flat or canaliculate, elliptic-lanceolate, 18-28 mm broad, falcate, apiculate, glabrous, minutely denticulate at margin; sheaths subterranean. Spathe much shorter than umbel, persistent, 3-lobed; lobes finally reflexed. Umbel fastigiate-hemispherical, 4 cm diam., many-flowered, rather dense. Pedicels slender, 1.8-2.5 cm. Perianth stellate at anthesis; segments white with pale midvein, oblong-elliptic, 5-5.5 mm, subacute, becoming distinctly reflexed, persistent. Filaments simple, 4-4.5 mm, c. 3/4 x perianth segments; base triangular-lanceolate, cream, without any trace of purple in vivo. Anthers yellow. Ovary sessile, blackish; style 2.7 mm, cream; stigma 3-lobed. Mature capsule subglobose, 4.5-5 mm. Fl. 5. Montane steppe, 2100 m.

Endemic. Ir.-Tur. element. Allied to A. asclepiadeum Bornm. [8:204], but the latter has shorter filaments (only 1/2 x perianth) which are characteristically dark purple at the base and a purple style.
